Idea #1 Make Your Own Christmas Wrapping Paper

This is a simple, hands-on activity that the kids will absolutely love! Let their creativity run wild as they cut, stamp and stick to their hearts’ content.

Visit Rockingham Centre for all your Christmas needs and get the family ready for the Christmas fun to follow.

What you’ll need:

  • Paper (tip: brown, white or butcher’s paper work best)
  • Paint, ink, crayons, pencils
  • Christmas stamps
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Ribbon
  • Optional: Glue and glitter

Steps:

  1. Lay out your paper on a flat surface. Consider using a protective layer like newspaper underneath.
  2. Decorate the paper in your own unique way using Christmas stamps, paint, ink, crayons, pencils or markers from Red Dot. Go as bold or as simple as you like but the more festive, the better!
  3. Let your paper creation dry before using it to gift wrap your presents. Cut and tape the paper according to each present size and don’t forget to add your colourful ribbon from The Reject Shop at the end.

dea #2 DIY Funny, Festive Bon-Bons

Who doesn’t love cracking a Christmas bon bon around the table? Here’s how to make your own custom bon bons with hand-written jokes and treats that are sure to get plenty of giggles from friends and family.

What you’ll need:

  • A pre-cut bon bon kit, or have a go at making your own with card or fabric
  • Plain paper
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Small trinkets and treats
  • Ribbon or string

Steps:

  1. Unbox your pre-cut bon bon kit. This way, you can put all your energy into decorating and filling the bon-bons.
  2. Cut your plain paper into long, thin strips and use them to write your jokes on. This is a great chance to personalise for the table!
  3. When it comes to bon bons, it’s what’s on the inside that counts! So, gather your handwritten jokes, small trinkets, and favourite treats from Kmart and lay them flat in the centre of your bon bon wrappers.
  4. Now it’s time to fold and roll your wrappers into shape - with all your goodies inside. Secure the ends with a festive ribbon or string and repeat for this process for the rest of your bon bons.

And there you have it! These simple Christmas crafts are sure to provide lots of fun and entertainment for the whole family, be the start of some new traditions, as well as put a smile on everyone’s face.
